There will be 150 questions in all. The number of questions in each part is as follows:

SubjectNo of questions
Part IPhysics40
Part IIChemistry40
Part III(a) English Proficiency15

(b) Logical Reasoning10
Part IVMathematics45

Total:150

All questions are multiple choice questions with four options, only one being correct. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer fetches -1 mark. No marks are awarded for not attempted questions.

Candidates can skip questions/ mark questions for further 'review', can go back and change any of their answers among the 150 questions, but are not allowed to choose more than one option as correct answer. All the questions and instructions of the test will be in English only.

BITSAT is a three hour exam and there is no time limit for individual parts of the test.

Additional Questions:

BITSAT unlike other competitive exams gives a chance to highly meritorious candidates to score higher. If a candidate answers all the 150 questions (without skipping any question), the candidate will have an option of attempting 12 (twelve) additional questions, if there is still time left. These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics only; with four questions from each part. But, once the candidate has opted for extra questions, he/ she cannot go back for correction of any of the earlier answered 150 questions.

Unique question paper for each candidate:

Since BITSAT is conducted over a period of time, different candidates will get different question sets. The questions are selected at random from a large question bank. BITSAT expert committee ensures that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type etc.

NO Biology, for BITSAT 2009:

For the first time in the year 2008, BITS gave its candidates the option of attempting Mathematics or Biology while they appear for the BITSAT exam. Candidates who opt for answering the Biology part of BITSAT 2008 were eligible for admission only to B.Pharm (Hons) and M.Sc. (Hons) Biological Sciences.

For BITSAT 2009, the above scheme has changed. Candidates do NOT have the option of attempting Mathematics or Biology. So ALL candidates, including the ones who are looking at admissions to B.Pharm (Hons) and M.Sc. (Hons) Biological Sciences will have to attempt the Mathematics part.

BITSAT is a computer-based online entrance test for the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. BITS, a deemed university, is an all-India Institute for advance education. Every incorrect answer would lead to a negative marking of 1 mark. The test will be of total 3-hour duration (without break). The test consists of four parts:
The Break up 150 questions are

Part I :
Physics ( 40 Questions )

Part II :
Chemistry ( 40 Questions )

Part III : (a)
English Proficiency and ( 15 Questions ) (b) Logical Reasoning ( 10 Questions )

Part IV : Mathematics OR Biology ( 45 Questions )

There is no time limit for individual parts of the test. The candidate can go back and change any of his/her answers among the 150 questions at any point of time. If a candidate answers all the 150 questions (without skipping any question), the candidate will have an option of attempting 12 (twelve) extra questions, if there is still time left. Bitsat online test tips and tricks by a BITSIAN.I think he will be relevant person to express his views in this area.

I suggest all the people to take Bitsat test dates at the end so that you will have enough time to prepare for BITSAT.Its good to follow CBSE plus one and plus two text books, for Physics and Chemistry.Maths is relatively easy compared to above two subjects.

Maths is really scoring in BITSAT and i suggest people to be perfect in maths. At the same time maths is relatively easy .In BITSAT Chemistry will be relatively tougher of the above groups. One may face theoretical questions from chapters like polymers, inorganic and organic chemistry. So advise not to concentarte even on theorey part of Chemistry if u want to score high in BITSAT.

BITSAT Physics level is similar to that of in AIEEE.One can expect same standard of questions as in AIEEE and mainly problamatic ones in BITSAT.

I advise all the BITS aspirants not to worry much about the english, reasoning parts. There is no need for one to waste time on these two topics.

If you feel u dont have enough command in English then better to go through the active voice -passive voic, direct speech-indirect speech and related basic stuff of grammar rather than touching vocabulary. There are as many as more than 4000 words to learn in vocabulary and the marks allotted to vocabulary are less in BITSAT.Overall dont worry about English if u are good at grammar .

BITSAT -(Bitsadmission test) started 4 years ago,but still there is a great dearth of online resources pointing towards the good preparation of the examination. Seeing this we BITSians have come up with BITSexam on April 1st 2008 to provide free BITSAT sample papers for the wannabe BITSians. There are many people who still believe that there is no difference between a written test and an online test. But they should realise that the most important thing while writing an online exam is having high concentration levels for the whole of three hours. With our BITSexam we intend to provide the platform for BITS aspirants to get the required practice.

Watch out for more........

Bitsat test has 150 questions right from its inception.

There will be 150 questions in all. The number of questions in each part is as follows:
